Kroger Skillet Meals & Sides

It's that time of year again. Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays but they can be very stressful. Between shopping, Elf on the Shelf , spending time with family and getting my daughter's birthday planned (which happens to be the 22nd of December) I get easily stressed this time of year. Meals get put on the back burner. I end up tossing a frozen pizza or meal in the oven and call it done. Not the ideal foods to be eating but they are quick and easy.

I have also been under the weather. Sinus problems have kept me down for nearly 3 weeks. Kroger Skillet meals have been a huge blessing for me and my family while I've been feeling miserable. Minimal time to make and even my fiance can handle cooking them!

Now that I've found Kroger Skillet meals I don't have to worry about feeding my family those gross quick fix meals. One convenient skillet meal bag is all it takes to get that perfect meal cooking. They come in a variety so there is something for everyone, even the picky eater!

Kroger also has salad kits and garlic bread that make perfect sides to go along with Kroger Skillet meals. So if the holidays stress you out and your family is sick of frozen meals, give Kroger Skillet meals a try!

* Disclaimer -- I received a Kroger Skillet meal, salad kit and garlic bread free from BzzAgent. The thoughts in this post are my own and I was not told what I needed to say.

Hectic Holidays

I have not been keeping up with my blog and for that I apologize. We're smack dab in the middle of the holiday season and it's been a bit hectic around here. Don't get me wrong, I love the holidays. They can a bit crazy though. My fiance and I both have decent size families. Said families do holiday get-togethers. They  tend to overlap one another. There lies the stress of the holidays. I want to spend time with both families and enjoy their company ... well, most everyone's company. You all know what I'm talking about. The select few people that you tolerate as best as you can. We all deal with it. I put on a happy face and push through.

My daughter's birthday falls on the 22nd of December. She'll be 8 this year. Yes I know, not very well planned out. I get told all the time that my fiance and I did not think it over when we chose to conceive. Well, here's the thing : we were 19, going on 20. We wanted a child together and thinking about the date she would be born was far from our minds.

Now we have a December 'baby' forever. I wouldn't change that for the world. Sure a birth date in the Spring or Summer would have been more convenient but I love my baby girl just the same. We have had some interesting weather for her birthday parties the past years. That adds stress to the holidays too. I have my fingers and toes crossed, as I do every year, that her birthday party will not get ruined by Old Man Winter and the snow he tends to dump upon Ohio on the exact day of the party.

I get a lot of people saying 'Poor girl, Christmas takes away from the excitement of her birthday.' No way! We do an excellent job of not letting Christmas take away from her birthday. The bank account does not like me this time of year. To those who don't have a child in December be thankful. Money runs very tight with buying Christmas presents, birthday party supplies and birthday presents. Not to mention we pay to rent a place to have her party. When buying our home we didn't take into consideration how little space we really have to throw parties. It's perfect for the 3 of us plus our dog but it's not party material.

On top of buying for birthday and Christmas, we have 6 nephews and 4 nieces. All of which we buy a Christmas present for. Now are you getting why I say the holidays are hectic?! I know I'm not alone in this 'boat'.

With that said, Happy Holidays ya'll!

Curel Intensive Healing Cream = Heavenly

I have been using Curel Intensive Healing cream for about a month and a half now. I tested it out on my hands first. Having extremely sensitive and dry skin, I was careful with trying a new product. Curel Intensive Healing cream has turned out to be the perfect fix for my skin. I live in Ohio, where the weather is always unpredictable. From  air conditioning one week to heat the heat. Yes, Ohio really is that crazy with it's weather. It does a number on my skin. I hadn't found anything that would keep moisture in my skin for any length of time.

I don't have to look any further! Since it worked so well on my hands, I started using it on my dry, scaly legs as well as my face. For some reason, I get terribly dry and flaky skin in and around my eye brows no matter what the temperature is outside. This cream has made that dry, flaky skin soft and smooth in less than two weeks time.

My legs are doing just as well as my hands and eye brow area. I had gotten so used to lotions and creams only working for a couple hours then needing reapplied. Temporary relief from dry skin was better than none at all. With Curel Intensive Healing cream I can apply once daily and have the skin I have always dreamed about. I'll be honest, I've even missed a day here or there and didn't get to use it. My skin did not revert back to it's usual dryness!

I highly recommend giving this cream a try! If it can do wonders for my sensitive, dry, flaky skin - imagine what it can do for yous!

* Disclaimer : I received Curel Intensive Healing Cream free to try and review from BzzAgent. My thoughts and feelings about this product are my own.

Review: Curel Intensive Healing Cream

I have always had dry, sensitive skin. A lifelong problem that so many people deal with. Living in Ohio probably doesn't help much. The way the weather changes from 80 degrees to 40 degrees in a matter of days does all kinds of things to your skin. I had yet to find a lotion or cream that helps for any decent amount of time and stops the skin on my hands from cracking and bleeding. Now that I have tried Curel Intensive Healing cream, I have found my relief. This cream is amazing! Here are a few facts you might want to know about this miracle working cream :

* provides immediate moisture to help heal the driest skin
* fragrance free
* hypo allergenic
* safe for children 6 months and up
* dermatologist tested
* absorbs fast and doesn't leave a greasy feeling
* great for dry skin associated with diabetes
* long lasted relief

With the winter months upon us, do you really want to trust any other cream to keep your skin smooth and soft?

Note: I received Curel Intensive Healing Cream from Bzz Agent FREE to test and review. Opinions are my own and I was not told what I had to write in my review.

Gotta Love the Bzz!

It's been a long day at my house. Cleaning up the 'weekend mess' is always a task; dishes piled high, laundry over flowing from the hamper, dust accumulated on everything and the dog hair that is a never ending battle.   Not to mention, the Monday blues. I was pretty bummed about declining the Foreo Luna campaign this morning due to the $39 cost. It really was a great product and huge discounted price for it but Christmas is just around the corner. Nothing puts a smile on my face like getting a new Bzz Agent campaign invite! Which is why I am so excited about the one I just received -- Kroger Skillet Meals.

These are the items I will be receiving in the Bzz Kit :

  • Coupon for 1 FREE Fresh Selection Salad Kit
  • Coupon for 1 FREE Garlic Bread
  • Pass along coupons for friends and family to try Kroger Skillet Meals, Fresh Selection Salad Kits, and Kroger Garlic Bread

Good luck to everyone, hopefully a lot of you get this campaign too! Don't have a clue what Bzz Agent is? Check it out! I've been picked for some amazing Bzz campaigns for FREE to test and review.

Kashi Hummus Crisps Review

Kashi Hummus Crisps are made with chickpea. They contain no partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup or anything artificial. The nutrition label speaks for itself :

  •  27 crisps = 1 serving
  •  120 calories per serving
  •  NO sugar!
  •  6 grams of whole grains per serving
  •  3 grams of protein per serving
  •  4 grams of fiber per serving
  • crispy & crunchy just like a potato chip but better for your body!
  • not greasy or messy like potato chips

They are a simple snack that is both healthy and delicious. If you aren't into 'healthy' snacks don't let that stop you from giving them a try. As I have said in other posts, I am not a health crazed eater and these are now one of my favorite snacks. I have finally found them at my local Kroger. I'm not going to lie, I did a little happy dance in the isle when I saw them! A huge thanks goes out to BzzAgent for including me in their Kashi Hummus Crisp campaign. I did receive a free bag of them as well as coupons to share with friends and family.

Maxwell House International Latte Review

This was the start of my morning. A warm beverage and a good book are the perfect way to enjoy a day like today. It's rather cold and cloudy outside. My drink choice was Maxwell House International Latte: French Vanilla flavored. I had never tried this particular brand of cafe-style drink mix. It states you can use boiling water or warm milk. I chose water but will be testing it out with milk when I get to the store to buy more.

I received two sample packets and a $1.00 off coupon in the mail from Maxwell House for their International Latte: French Vanilla flavor. This was a freebie on their website, which is no longer available. However, you can print a $0.75 coupon via the Maxwell House International website.

So you're probably wondering, how did it taste? It was delicious! My only complaint would be that it did not have enough french vanilla flavor. This problem can be easily solved. You can buy it in a canister and add as much to your hot water or warm milk as you like. They can be purchased in a box of single serve packets as well. You can also use them as a creamer to add to your favorite coffee.

* Disclaimer : I did not receive payment or any other form of compensation for writing this review. I signed up for a freebie, received it and chose to write a review to share my experience with others. I am in no way affiliated with Maxwell House International.

10/11 Freebie Friday -- Posted A Little Late

I am a huge fan of freebies -- especially in the mail. It's a great way to receive coupons and free samples for products. These are the freebies I received the week of 10/6. Some weeks are better than others but anything free puts a smile on my face! Plus it's nice to get things other than bills in the mail.

I received the Apple & Eve and Bush's baked beans coupons for contacting the companies on their websites. Did you know you can do that? I have been receiving lots of coupons for doing just that. Showing you appreciation for products really can be rewarding.

The Lalaloopsy book was free through Kellogg's Family Rewards. Don't know what that is? Be sure to check it out and sign up. You enter codes on their website to get points for free items. Being rewarded for items I always purchase is a wonderful thing.

Review : Dr. Scholl's for Her Comfort Insoles

I received another great product free from Influenster in my #MamaVoxBox -- Dr. Scholl's for Her Comfort Insoles. These are AMAZING! My mother gave me these flats awhile back and I fell in love with them. Well, I fell in love with the idea of wearing them. Every time I would slip them on, within minutes my feet and back were hurting. Being a Mom, I am on my feet most of the day. Comfortable shoes can be a real problem! I knew Dr. Scholl's made insoles but had never tried them.

Dr. Scholl's for Her Comfort Insoles are made with a unique FabuSTEP gel and prove comfort that lasts and lasts. They fit easily into flats, heels or boots. No one will even know you are wearing them. They absorb shock at the heel and do not crowd your toes at all. I wear a size 10 shoe so I wasn't sure how these insoles would work for me. While they don't go all the way to the toe as they would for say a size 7, they are still extremely comfortable.

Visit Dr. Scholl's website for more information on these insoles and other great products!

Review : Annie's Mac & Cheese Cup

I received 1 Annie's White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese cup through Influenster to review for FREE. My daughter is an extremely picker eat so getting her to try it was out of the question. I couldn't wait to try it! Before I say whether I liked it or not I'd like to share some facts about the product.

Annie's White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese cups have no artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors added to them.

The cheese used to make it comes from cow that are NOT treated with growth hormones.

They use macaroni made with organic wheat  -- you can't even taste the difference!

Now, on to what I thought of it. Being a cheese lover all my life, getting Annie's Macaroni and Cheese cup was perfect for me. I kept thinking I would eat it as a quick lunch one day but ended up making mashed potatoes, corn, grilled chicken strips (not pictured because I don't eat chicken) and the mac & cheese cup for dinner last night. The mac & cheese was to die for! I had never tried macaroni and cheese with white cheddar. Let's just say I will be keeping it stocked in my kitchen. Organic foods have never been on my grocery list before nor have I tried anything that is organic. I was really surprised at the taste of the organic pasta. It tasted just like regular macaroni but healthier!

To check out all the products Annie's has to offer and see where you can buy them go to Annie's Homegrown.

Review: Kashi Hummus Crisps

I recently received Kashi Hummus Crisps (Sea Salt and Olive Oil flavor) free to test and review for BzzAgent. I am a very picky eat. Health food isn't normally on my grocery list. My initial thought was 'Hummus? Gross!'. Boy was I wrong! I reluctantly opened the bag and reached in for a crisp. One bite and I was hooked. These little crisps are not only healthy but they taste great too. Who would have thought healthy could taste delicious?!

Kashi Hummus Crisps are made with chickpea. They contain no partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup or anything artificial. The nutrition label speaks for itself :

* 27 crisps = 1 serving
* 120 calories per serving
* NO sugar!
* 6 grams of whole grains per serving
* 3 grams of protein per serving
* 4 grams of fiber per serving

The downside? I am having trouble finding these in a local grocery store. Kroger is said to have them but I haven't found them yet. If you are interested in trying these healthy and delicious little crisps you can check the Kashi website to find a store near you have carries them.

Welcome to My Blog!

Hi ya'll! My name is Kristen. I'm a stay at home mother from Ohio. I have been with my fiance for over 12 years. We have a beautiful daughter that is almost 8 years old. Our oldest baby is our fur-baby, Riley. He is a 9 year old Australian shepherd that we 'saved' from a pet store when he was nearly 6 months old. 2 cats and 2 fish round out my little family. Can you tell we love animals?!

A few of my favorite hobbies are saving money,  reading books, watching Disney movies, fishing, spending as much time with my little family as possible and cleaning - yes I like to clean!

I am new to blogging but have thought about giving it a go for quite some time. My intentions for this blog are to share money saving tips, deals, coupons, write product reviews, freebies by mail, recipes, tidbits about my family and everything in between. Please have patience with me as I get the hang of things.
